Description of Dissemination Event:
The Lithuanian university of educational sciences together with the "Language Teachers association of Lithuania" organized 2 days international conference " Languages across schools, cultures , borders: creativity, entrepreneurship , social inclusion" .The conference was held on the 26- 27 September at the Parliament of Lithuania and at the University of educational sciences.Teachers from 10 foreign countries - USA, Japan, Latvia, Estonia, Germany, Australia, Georgia, Izrael, Norway, Poland, 140 teachers from Lithuania and entrepreneurs from several enterprises of Lithuania participated at the conference. Irena Navickienė, project " School and Work" coordinator made a presentation " Toolkits Enhancing Teachers’ Competence in Providing Personalized Career Guidance Services to the Students" and provided information about the results of the project " School and Work", introduced all the Intellectual outputs developed in the framework of the Project, demostrated the project Portal, distributed a booklet about the Project activities and results achieved. Summary of the presenation was included into the broshure delivered to all the participants: "Toolkits Enhancing Teachers’ Competence in Providing Personalized Career Guidance Services to the Students".Erasmus + programme project “ School and Work”No.2014-1-IT02-KA201-003985. SUMMARY of the presentation: Erasmus + programme project “ School and Work” implemented by 6 partners from 5 EU countries – Italy, Spain, Romania, Belgium, France and Lithuania meet the expectations of school teachers and counselors seeking to design and provide personalised career guidance services to the students, to motivate students at risk of early school leaving to complete their studies. The aim of the project is to give evidence to the importance that companies and job market are giving when recruiting staff resources, to specific professional skills and competences, but also to qualification and transversal knowledge that can be achieved only successfully completing the educational process; to provide school teachers and counsellors with the necessary skills and tools for better understanding pupils’ individual attitudes, interests and potential skills; to establish a direct cooperation between the world of work and schools. E-learning based course for teachers and counsellors – a toolkit especially needed and valuable for teacher training on how to deal with students at risk of early school leaving and motivate them to continue and complete their educational path at school, by identifying their attitudes and specific skills, and motivating them to study by giving evidence to the importance of acquiring the transversal skills that are required by the companies and recruiting services. Collection of video interviews with entrepreneurs and success people in “Video Gallery” highlights the importance of not abandoning school too early and provides testimonials encouraging students to stay at school and complete their education. Outcomes, Results and Evaluation:
Dissemination of the project results, intellectual outputs, especially focusing on the E- learning package - training programme for school teachers and counsellors, was done during the international conference.
The evaluation and feedback got from the participants of the conference was highly positive.
Most of them assured that the tools will be used at schools while providing career guidance services to the pupils.
