How to capitalize different interests and skills in a learning path + Online Resources
Tests are valuable and useful career assessments that can help individuals understand how a variety of personal attributes (interests, values, preferences, motivations, aptitudes and skills) impact their potential success and satisfaction with different career options and work environments. They can be used by individuals or organizations, to help individuals make more informed career decisions. The tests come in many forms and vary along several dimensions.

Aptitudes career based tests measure the aptitudes of the students. An aptitude is a component of a competency to do a certain kind of work at a certain level, which can also be considered "talent". Aptitudes may be physical or mental. Aptitude is not developed knowledge, understanding, learned or acquired abilities (skills) or attitude. The innate nature of aptitude is in contrast to achievement, which represents knowledge or ability that is gained through learning. To make a good choice in terms of career, students should first know what they can do better.

The questionnaires help them learn more about themselves and occupations that best fit the aptitudes they have. Students in high school can take the career test to help them gain important new insights into what types of careers would motivate them and the top ten vocational areas they’re best suited for.

Personality career tests are used to determine student’s personality, social and moral values, strengths and main weakness. Personality career tests can help students select the right career by showing them what types of work and careers are most suiatble for them. Interest based career tests evaluate which jobs are best for students by revealing their areas of interest.

The scores help students pinpoint their strongest work-related interests and guide them to the occupations that will most satisfy those interests. The questionnaires usually take 40 to 60 minutes to complete. Complex questionnaires include information on skills, abilities, knowledges, work activities, and interests associated with occupations.

The strength of this module is to gather (and remind) important theoretical principles (as learning styles, multiple intelligences…) and practical advice to cultivate the students’ talents and interests, for example planning extracurricular activities, developing entrepreneurial experiences at school, etc.

The most interesting and functional section for the type of students F.Datini IPS is the "SKILL & JOBS", to deepen the profile of the professionals and the levels of skills within the school.
Furthermore, the analysis of the job profiles of the different countries involved in the project highlights the actual demand in the labor market. It would be useful to have in the Italian language test to use them in school with our students. The clearly structured site, has a dress simple and straightforward graphics, and is quite simple to find the inserted content

The module focuses on how to unveil the interests and aptitudes of students in order to plan and implement personalized educational paths and guidance services which successfully valorise students’ talents. As balancing theory and practice is one of the principles of this tool the second module starts from theoretical considerations on interests, aptitudes and key competences as well as school autonomy and learning styles, which are practically supported by useful hands-on curricular and extracurricular activities, teaching methods used to capitalize on students’ interests and skills and an impressive collection of best practices, experiences, success stories as well as tips on how to use them in class.
