Computer analyst
Description of the job profile
Computer systems analysts are responsible for determining how a business' computer system is serving the needs of the company, and what can be done to make those systems and procedures more effective. They work closely with managers to determine what system upgrades are financially feasible and what technologies are available that could increase the company's efficiency. Computer systems analysts may also design and develop new systems, train users and configure hardware and software as necessary. The type of system that analysts work with will largely depend upon the needs of their employer - Provide technical assistance to computer system users. Answer questions or resolve computer problems for clients in person, via telephone or from remote location. May provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word-processing, electronic mail, and operating systems.
