Messages sent in the interviews are very positive, because students can see the results of the effort, perseverance and studying, with real and different examples.

The video gallery is very useful. It could be a model of inspiration for many students, not even those in risk of early school leaving.

The videos focus on real people who talk about their experiences and success in life. Sometimes these people address students themselves directly especially when giving advice. They say that they also had problems but managed to get over them. “The advice comes from somebody who dropped school; what you have to do is study, study, there is no other way. Otherwise you’ll stay out of the job market. Life is constant training. Never consider dropping out of school.”
Do the videos inspire students not to abandon school before completing their educational path? I think that will. They set very concrete and possible examples to follow. There is one catch which is reiterated several times by all participants. “You should do what you like. Everything is useful: people you meet and open your mind; places you visit; knowledge and skills you acquire. But if you are not into what you’re doing, don’t be afraid to take a new path someday.”

All interviewers appreciate the role of school in one’s life; it undoubtedly provides advantages in various life sectors. It plays an important role in terms of job opportunities, information, knowledge and skills. All interviewees agreed that school is necessary. One reason is that the knowledge and skills acquired through education have helped them in life: “school gives people an intellectual background which is not essential in success but helps one save a lot of time,” “school has offered the basic general knowledge which has enabled me to handle complex and diverse situations.” The materials are rich in personal experience, which gives good food for thought, encourages reflection and gives excellent examples to follow. The inspiring examples presented will undoubtedly increase students’ motivation to learn, complete their education in order to reach their potential in life.

The Gallery of videos interviews of the project portal is relevant, first of all because it sets good examples to follow. They people in the video are real people who have succeeded in life and they are now sharing their experience with the students. They are speaking about their principles, values. They value education/ school. I think that the videos set very real examples to follow. The interviews uploaded on the project platform are a valuable resource and can create opportunities for students to get actively involved in their own development. The stories support the idea that learning is a lifelong endeavour which young people should pursue all their lives. They provide meaningful, real-life learning experiences which can help students make the right decisions for their future.

In October, we asked students, in pairs, to shoot an interview with an entrepreneur, an employee or a successful person.

One objective of the activity was to push students to manage to find the appropriate person and produce the video following the specifications provided by Inforef.
After they were reminded how to write a letter, the students wrote their request and used their network in order to provide us about twenty different profiles (restaurateur, doctor, banker, manager of a service voucher company, actress, football player, television host, veterinarian...).
The students carried out the project autonomously and showed us the rushes toward the end of November.
All the videos were shot within delays and edited by Inforef, which uploaded them on the project portal.

What we gather from the experience:

It is always beneficial for students to participate in a European project and to be able afterwards to consult the result of the work they provided thanks to their availability on the internet.

The students enjoyed the project because they could dedicate to it in a personal way. The people to interview were usually chosen depending on their higher education projects or career wishes, or even their interests. Doing a work for the school, the students could receive answers, advice for their personal path.

The students who preferred the “easy” way to interview an acquaintance told us it made them aware of some aspects they didn’t know, such as In their parents’ job (“I didn’t know it was so varied, so specialised, that it required so many skills, that he had so many responsibilities...).

The exercise was flexible, did not require too much work in class, gave students some freedom, requires accessible technology (a smartphone, a tablet)... and led to a finished product of a certain quality, therefore we could carry on in the coming years to increase the database.

These interviews really are inspirational and are a way to motivate students to continue their studies or even to change profession, provided that they are motivated!

The interviewees are dynamic and motivated and they inspire us to continue our studies to be able to do our dream job. All of them took different paths but they all succeeded.

These videos give the students information about a job and they are a way to encourage them to continue their studies. With the help of the videos, the students can understand the expectations and features of a job, as well as the necessary prerequisites to succeed in terms of diplomas. These aspects can encourage the students to continue their studies in order to succeed.
